For some reason i bought a humphrey bogart style raincoat with panels on the front and back, broad lapels, epaulettes and square wooden buttons.
I was 11 or 12 at the time and recall walking home with it on down entwisle road on a blazing hot saturday afternoon.
The coat reached to about six inches off the ground and i was roasting inside, but i really thought i looked like bogart or perhaps alan ladd.
